Thursday 25 November, we celebrate the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, established by the United Nations General Assembly with resolution number 54 /134 of 17 December 1999.
On this date the UN invites all States to organize and plan initiatives and activities aimed at raising public awareness on the issue of violence against women, especially in the scholastic and educational fields. And also New Food, leadinggluten-free and lactose-free company in Rome and beyond, has decided to make a small but significant gesture of solidarity, closeness and awareness to contrast of a real social plague of our society.
“We have decided to place red ribbons on our desserts in our four stores in the capital: red, the color symbolizing the fight against all forms of aggression and mistreatment against women. We want to do our small part to raise awareness in the community about an alarming and worrying phenomenon, which must be reflected on and fought against not only on this important day but 365 days a year."
So Thursday 25 November on the t-shirts of collaborators and on the counters of the New Food shops in Rome (Piazza Scotti, 18 , in the Monteverde district; Ponte Milvio, in via Riano, 52; in the Casal Palocco area, in via di Casal Palocco, 24; in via San Vincenzo Pallotti 208) red ribbons will be visible, in the awareness gained that "awareness and prevention are two fundamental principles for combating violence against women".
